Description

Prerequisite: CBT1020 with a minimum grade of C or instructor consent.
Structured as a hands-on, shop class. Students will also participate in classroom learning as new topics are introduced. Basic framing principles and building code adherence will be the main emphasis of this course. Students will learn how to identify and calculate cut lengths for all framing members of both floor and wall systems. The hands-on section of this course will start with students building a nominal lumber floor system, an engineered I-joist system, and a floor truss system. The duration of this course will involve students framing mock-up modules with both wood and metal wall members.
