Welcome and thank you for agreeing to participate in the pilot study of the Associate Degree Assessment for Criminal Justice Majors. The pilot study is intended to determine if the common learning objectives for Criminal Justice majors at the Associate Degree level are being achieved by students who have or are about to graduate with an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice.
This assessment is focused on Criminal Justice learning, and consists of 108 questions covering the 5 topics common to Associate Degrees in Criminal Justice at Missouri public higher learning institutions. The topic categories consist of: introductory concepts of criminal justice, concepts of criminal investigation, concepts of criminal law, juvenile justice concepts, and concepts of police administration.
Although this pilot test has no academic bearing on your degree or a specific course grade, it is essential that you do your very best to correctly answer the questions. The assessment consists of multiple choice questions in which you are asked to select the response you believe is correct from the available answers. Since this assessment measures general aspects of the major courses in Criminal Justice at the Associate Degree level, no one particular textbook has been used as a sole source of reference for this exam.
On behalf of the Criminal Justice program and Mineral Area College, we thank you for your assistance in helping us conduct this pilot study of the Associate Degree assessment for Criminal Justice Majors.
