Intermediate Algebra (MAT 1130)

Prerequisite: One of the following: (1) ACT math score of 19-21, or Compass Algebra score of 38-65, or Compass College Algebra score of 31-52, or Accuplacer Elementary Algebra score of 97-115 (students who score 108-115 on the Accuplacer Elementary Algebra test may take the College Level Math test to attempt placement into College Algebra, Foundations of Math, or Trigonometry) or (2) a minimum high school grade point average of 3.5 and ACT math score of 17-18, or Compass Algebra score of 26-37, or Compass College Algebra score of 27-30, or Accuplacer Elementary Algebra score of 80-96 or (3) or a minimum grade of C in MAT0950 or Learning Center modules MAT0110, MAT0120, and MAT0130.Prepares students for the rigors of college algebra. Includes the concepts of factoring, rational expressions, graphing equations and inequalities, systems of equations, roots and radicals, and quadratic equations. Does not meet math requirements for the AA or AAT degrees.
