Description

Prerequisite: MSC1842 or instructor approval.
This course is intended to provide more detailed knowledge regarding playing skills and techniques learned and acquired in Beginning Guitar (MSC1841). Students will learn to play songs in the Jazz, Metal and Fingerstyle genres. Students will also begin a basic understanding of music theory as it applies specifically to the guitar as used for composition. Students will be required to play select pieces representative of each genre for unit and assessment purposes as well as several short quizzes in addition to a short composition bsed on theory information.
