Description

Prerequisite: One of the following: (1) An ACT math score of 22-26, or Compass Algebra score of 66-89, or Compass College Algebra score of 53-71, or Compass College Trigonometry score of 46-62, or minimum Accuplacer Elementary Algebra score of 116 or Accuplacer College Algebra score of 50-69 or (2) a minimum high school grade point average of 3.5 and a minimum ACT math score of 20-21, or Compass Algebra score of 41-65, or Compass College Algebra score of 46-52, or Accuplacer Elementary Algebra score of 110-115 or (3) a minimum grade of C in MAT1130.
A comprehensive and rigorous course covering the concepts and techniques of algebra. Included are the following topics: solving linear, rational, quadratic, and other types of equations; linear, rational, quadratic and other types of functions (properties, graphs, inverses); exponential and logarithmic functions; and solving systems of equations. Topics will be covered thoroughly and in detail.
