STATEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING

    I understand that in the Class A Certified Basic and Advanced Law Enforcement Training Academy, I will be required to participate in intense physical activities that will include defensive tactics training, firearms training and qualification, and job-related situational scenario training.

    I certify that I have no physical or mental conditions that would prohibit my participation in the above activities.

    The Mineral Area College Law Enforcement Academy has informed me that I have NOT been assured of any law enforcement position as a result of my successful completion of the Basic or Advanced Training Academy in which I am enrolled.  I understand that I must apply directly to the law enforcement department in which I am interested in seeking employment.  I also understand that I have to comply with all entry requirements of the city/county department for which I am seeking employment.

    I understand that testing and acceptance in the Mineral Area College Law Enforcement Academy does not guarantee my completion of the academy.  I also understand that once accepted in the Mineral Area College Law Enforcement Academy, that I will be under constant review morally, ethically, legally and intellectually and may be removed from the academy by the Mineral Area College Law Enforcement Academy Director or the Missouri Police Officer Standards of Training (P.O.S.T.) for any act against the academy rules, regulations, Missouri Revised Statutes, or provisions of the Missouri Code of State Regulations.

I understand Mineral Area College Law Enforcement Academy will be conducting a Social Media Background Check, which will include a review of my public posts on social media as well as publicly available articles from the web and news sources.

Internal disciplinary action, including dismissal from the academy selection process, may be undertaken if you refuse to answer or if you fail to reply fully and truthfully.  Neither your answers nor any information or evidence gained by reason of your answers will be released without expressed authorization.
