About the ACCUPLACER Next Generation
The ACCUPLACER Next Generation test is used to measure current skills in writing, reading, and math. The results are used to select the math and English courses you need, as well as determine if a reading course is needed.
At MAC, we recommend taking the Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics (QAS) math section of the exam, along with the Writing and Reading sections.
How long does it take to complete?
The ACCUPLACER Next Generation is an untimed exam.
If you are taking all 3 sections, you may want to plan for 2-3 hours.

Please note that are not required to pay for the exam when you register online. You may bring in payment when you arrive for testing.

What should I expect on test day?
You should arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of your test and bring a current picture ID (required) along with the testing fee. We accept cash, check, or credit cards. Credit card payments can be made at the Student Services desk.
You will be asked to turn off your phone and store your belongings in a locker before entering the Testing Room.
Once in the Testing Room, you’ll be seated a computer to complete the exam. We will provide scratch paper and a pencil.
Can I get my scores from another institution?
You can find your Individual Score Report (ISR) by clicking the link listed below. If you did not enter an email address when you tested, you will not be able to access your report. In this case you will need to contact the institution where you tested to request your score report.

How many times can I take the ACCUPLACER?
If you aren’t happy with your score, you can retake the test as many times as you wish in one or all three subject areas; however, we suggest reviewing study materials before retaking the exam. Free resources are listed below:
